SadhanaPath is run by Smartify7 ("SadhanaPath", "we", "us"). It is a tuition-cum-digital school based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. We run the website sadhanapath.online, the web app at app.sadhanapath.online and the SadhanaPath Android app (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and Google's requirements for apps that use Google Sign-In.
Most of our students are under 18. Where this policy says "you", it means the student and, for a student under 18, their parent or guardian too.
Summary
- We collect only what we need to teach, to report progress and to keep the Service safe.
- We never sell personal data and we show no advertising.
- A teacher verifies every new student by phone or WhatsApp before study content is unlocked.
- Parents of students under 18 give consent and can see, correct or delete their child's data at any time.
- Contact us at nameisan03@gmail.com or +91 81431 96519.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), or your Google account if you sign in with Google.
- Student profile: phone number, city, school name, board and class.
- Parent details: a parent's name and phone number, when you give them for reports or verification.
- Learning work: answers to questions and tests, written answers (including photos of handwritten work you upload), voice answers you record, doubts you ask, and messages to our AI tutors.
- Demo and contact requests: details you send through the website's demo form. The form opens WhatsApp or your email app; it does not store anything on our servers.
Information from Google Sign-In
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use them only to create and sign in to your SadhanaPath account and to show your name and picture in the app. We do not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Information created as you use the Service
- Progress data: scores, time spent, topics practised, mastery estimates, streaks, weekly and monthly reports, and the study plans our AI tutors suggest.
- Usage data: which lessons and videos are opened, live-class participation, and basic technical information (device type, browser, app version, error logs) needed to keep the Service working.
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on the website or in the app. The app stores your sign-in session and a few preferences on your device so you stay signed in.
2. How we use information
- To provide tuition, practice, tests, notes, live classes and AI tutoring.
- To grade answers, find weak topics and choose the next questions and revision for each student.
- To prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for the student and their parent.
- To verify new students and keep the Service safe from misuse.
- To contact you about classes, reports, fees and support, by phone, WhatsApp, email or app notifications.
- To fix problems and improve our lessons and questions. When we study how lessons work, we use combined or de-identified data where we can.
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or build profiles of students for anyone other than the student, their parent and their teachers.
3. AI tutors and automated grading
Some answers, doubts and messages are processed by AI models to grade work, explain mistakes and suggest practice. To do this, the text of the question and answer (and, for voice answers, the recording) is sent to AI service providers that process it on our behalf. We send only what each task needs, and never students' phone numbers or email addresses.
AI can make mistakes. A SadhanaPath teacher supervises every student, reviews AI-graded theory answers and every weekly report, and you can always ask a teacher to re-check a grade.
4. Children and parental consent
The Service is designed for school and intermediate students, most of whom are under 18. Under the DPDP Act, we need verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian before we process the personal data of a child under 18.
- When a student signs up, their account stays in a waiting state until a SadhanaPath teacher contacts the parent by phone or WhatsApp to confirm the student's identity and the parent's consent.
- We do not track children's behaviour for advertising or show them targeted advertising.
- A parent can ask to see, correct or delete their child's data, or withdraw consent, at any time (see section 8).
5. Who we share information with
We share personal data only as described here:
- Parents and teachers: a student's progress, reports and work are visible to their parent and to their SadhanaPath teachers.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract:
- Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in.
- Our cloud server host: runs our application servers.
- Google: Google Sign-In, and Google Play for the Android app.
- AI model providers, as described in section 3.
- WhatsApp (Meta): reports and messages sent to parents who choose WhatsApp.
- Legal reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a student or others.
Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside India. When they do, we use providers that protect it to a standard at least as strong as this policy, and transfers follow the DPDP Act.
6. How long we keep information
We keep a student's account and learning records while the account is active, so their progress history stays complete. If an account is deleted, or has been inactive for two years, we delete or de-identify its personal data within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer (for example, fee records).
7. Security
We protect data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls in our database so each student can reach only their own records, separate keys for our servers, and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.
8. Your rights and choices
You (or the parent of a student under 18) can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold and how we use it;
- correct or update your details;
- ask us to delete your account and data;
- withdraw consent (we will then stop processing, which means the account can no longer be used);
- nominate another person to exercise these rights if you are unable to;
- stop WhatsApp or app notifications at any time.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days. If you signed in with Google, you can also remove SadhanaPath's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
9. Grievances and contact
